Eurasia Tunnel has become the first project in the world to be certified by the Blue Dot Network, a global initiative that aims to promote high-quality, sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure investments.
Projects that successfully complete the Blue Dot Network certification process—developed within a technical framework led by the OECD—were awarded their certificates at a ceremony held on April 24 at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris.
Eurasia Tunnel received this prestigious certification by meeting the program’s criteria of being open and inclusive, transparent, supportive of the Paris Climate Agreement goals, and financially, socially, and environmentally sustainable.
This recognition reaffirms that Eurasia Tunnel’s practices align with international standards in areas such as transparency, environmental protection, respect for labor rights, and prioritization of social benefit.
The certificate ceremony was hosted by representatives from the OECD and the Blue Dot Network Secretariat. Among the attendees were Yalçın Eyigün, General Director of Infrastructure Investments at the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; Burak Aykan, Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs; Esen Altuğ, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the OECD; Sangdae Choi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of South Korea to the OECD; Başar Arıoğlu, Chairman of Yapı Merkezi Holding and Eurasia Tunnel Board of Directors, along with other project representatives.
