Eurasia Tunnel Introduced Children to Marine Life

Eurasia Tunnel Introduced Children to Marine Life 08 June 2026

As part of its sustainability efforts, Eurasia Tunnel launched a project aimed at strengthening children’s awareness of nature and the environment. Bringing marine life together with children through the theme “Istanbul Through the Eyes of a Fish,” featured in its 2026 calendar, Eurasia Tunnel met with approximately 600 children at Hasan Tan Primary School and Şehit Mehmet Yılmaz Primary School in Üsküdar.

As part of the project, underwater photographer Alptekin Baloğlu introduced children to marine life, the underwater ecosystem and sea creatures through underwater photographs. During the events, students were also presented with copies of The Secrets of the Sea in 50 Questions, a book prepared by Alptekin Baloğlu to introduce children to the underwater world. The books will also be delivered to children studying in various provinces of Türkiye who have not had the opportunity to experience the sea.

To measure the impact of the project, children were surveyed before and after the sessions. The results showed an increase in children’s awareness of marine life and sea creatures. The most significant improvement was observed in children’s awareness that they, too, can take action to protect the seas.

Eurasia Tunnel continues to carry out projects that transform its sustainability approach into social benefit and strengthen awareness of nature and the environment.
