According to the analysis based on traffic data of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, last year drivers who used the Eurasia Tunnel helped saving 33 million hours of time, 38 thousand tons of fuel, 79 million vehicle/km in accident cost and reducing 19 thousand tons of emissions. Thus, the project's overall contribution to the nation’s economy has risen up to $1.2 billion which indicates that the project returned its investment cost in six years.
